Dogs have an amazing array of behaviors and interact with us and other animals with flexible repertoire of visual, auditory, scent and body signals that allow them to be quite expressive and quite good at communication and dog–human interaction.
Unlike other species of animals, the dog’s tail is primarily used for communication and not for balance or defense.
Dogs tail wags tell us how they feel. They wag a certain way if they are happy, another if they feel threatened.
