Enthusiastic Dogs Gets Stuck in a Tree
The official Instagram page of the Caldwell Fire Department in Idaho shared a post about a hilariously adorable incident of a cute pit bull-husky mix who got a bit carried away when chasing a squirrel.
The firefighters rescued the pooch who probably wondered how he made it all the way to the top. (The squirrel was unavailable for comment!)
Dog and Cat
Most of the time when you heard about firefighters getting called out to a scene to rescue an animal caught in a tree, it’s usually a cat. Cats are well-known climbers of trees, and sometimes they get a little overly-ambitious in their pursuits and end up getting stuck.
However, firefighters from the Lathrop Manteca Fire District in California experienced a first for their careers when they were asked to rescue a dog and a cat who’d gotten themselves stuck in a tree. Apparently, a German Shepherd had realized that he was stuck after chasing a cat up a tree.
Here (in a brief moment of glory) a German Shepherd shows the canine happily cornering the cowering feline, only for the dog to realize that he has put quite a bit of distance between himself and the ground. By the time the firefighters show up, the German Shepherd was looking quite sheepishly – no doubt wondering how he got himself into this strange situation.
Clearly, this dog didn’t think things through carefully enough.
Dog Lovers Find Ways to Support Unwanted Dogs
You may have heard of Mr Akira, the elderly busker who went viral on TikTok and other social media for painting umbrellas while singing.
As an animal lover, he often paints different types of animals on umbrellas. He also sells them to support various animal shelters. In addition, if he knew of any unwanted, lost or unclaimed dogs, he would usually take them in.
Mr Akira is a retired artist who is doing what he loves – painting and enjoying canine friendships. He is on a limited income and works closely with a local dog rescue organization that helps to make sure the dogs are healthy and perhaps find a more permanent home.
The umbrellas are beautifully painted.
