Petco Partners with Snoop Dogg to Sniff Out ‘Better Quality Pet Care for Less Human Money’

‘Tha Doggfather’ helps the health and wellness company spotlight its complete pet care offerings in new creative campaign

It takes a Dogg to know a dog. And Snoop Dogg knows that food without artificial ingredients, toys for mental stimulation, and full vet services keep pets happy and healthy.

Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. announced it has teamed up with hip-hop legend and devoted pet parent Snoop Dogg for a new advertising campaign that spotlights the value Petco offers when it comes to caring for pets’ whole health. The campaign is the latest iteration of the brand’s long-standing “It’s What We’d Want If We Were Pets” platform, which personifies pets with human actors to affirm Petco’s commitment to delivering them the same quality of care as any other member of the family.

The campaign’s hero 30-second video spot, “DOGG WALK,” features the rapper as the human version of a Doberman Pinscher, aptly reminiscent of the breed Snoop famously transformed into in the video for his top hit Who Am I? (What’s My Name?) on his 1993 debut album, “Doggystyle.” In the film, Snoop’s familiar pet persona is the epitome of health thanks to the high-quality — yet wallet-friendly — nutrition, supplies and care he gets from Petco. In two accompanying shorter spots, Snoop confirms that dogs like him — and the Doberman — love a good deal and can always sniff them out. [Link to video]

“When it comes to shopping for my pets, I choose stuff for them I’d choose for myself. My pets gotta look good, feel good, smell good,” said Snoop Dogg. “But it’s hard to know how to keep our pets healthy and happy when they can’t tell us what they need. When I shop at Petco, it’s all there, even my own pet line, Snoop Doggie Doggs. They have great experts and great deals, so I can relax and trust that my pets are always fresh and getting the best at a fair price. Now that’s value.”

A long-time pet parent and grandparent to dogs, cats and reptiles, Snoop Dogg is also sharing a curated, shoppable list of his favorite “Petco Picks” that support pet health and wellness and his personal lifestyle. Available now at petco.com, products include toys, treats, grooming supplies, and items from Snoop’s own pet wear brand, Snoop Doggie Doggs, which will become available at Petco pet care centers nationally in August.

Christie Brinkley and Dog Care Product Company Team Up for Senior Dog Adoption Event in NYC.

A Senior Pet Adoption event at New York’s Animal Haven highlighted senior pups, who account for less than 25% of all dog adoptions.

Pet Life Unlimited dog care products along with creative direction from beauty and style icon Christie Brinkley celebrated beauty at any age and asked to give each senior a special glow-up to help their chances of finding their forever home!

Focusing on established dog care products, Christie and team made sure these senior dogs looked and felt their best. The event and campaign are another expression of Pet Life Unlimited’s mission to help dog parents be the heroes their dogs already know they are. From grooming to home, and outdoor pet care products their super clean, dog-friendly formulas are made with plant-derived ingredients and premium materials. A variety of pet care products such as dog wipes, spray-on dog shampoo & conditioner, and eye & ear wipes were the go-to tools Christie used to create the glow-ups. While the brand’s Smart Prints Dog Pads and Stain & Odor Eliminator were essential tools for potty breaks and accident clean-ups.

The event involved dozens of local influencers with their dogs, inspired by the newly beautified senior pups, as they were being groomed at various stations. Christie unveiled glamour shots she directed where the dogs recreated some of her iconic magazine covers from the past few decades, including Glamour, People, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, and more.

The  organizers said “We’re thrilled and honored to partner with Christie Brinkley to amplify the story of these lovable senior dogs who truly deserve forever homes. We can’t imagine a better way to use our products and our collaboration with Christie than to help these dogs have their moment to shine and help get them adopted! Already several of our senior dog stars have been adopted and are enjoying their new families – and all the Pet Life Unlimited products they’ll ever need, of course!”
