National Dog Day, held every year on August 26, celebrates the bond between humans and their dogs and encourages dog ownership of all breeds. National Dog Day was established in 2004.
National Dog Day has evolved into a global celebration, championed by pet lovers far and wide along with sports teams, the U.S. military, celebrities and arms of our government. It was founded 20 years ago by Colleen Paige, an author, animal welfare advocate, celebrity pet lifestyle expert and animal behaviorist as a way to thank dogs for all they do to contribute to our lives through their love and loyalty.
Special for the 20th Anniversary of National Dog Day, DOGTV, the ultimate streaming platform for dogs and their humans, recently announced that it will serve as this year’s presenting partner for National Dog Day’s 20th anniversary celebration.
DOGTV’s celebration of National Dog Day includes a free 24-hour livestream of DOGTV programming designed for dogs and their humans. As the first and only television network created specifically for dogs, with additional programming created for people to enjoy, the entire day will highlight a “best of” showing of DOGTV content. Programming can be accessed on DOGTV along with National Dog Day’s site. It can also be viewed directly through DOGTV’s YouTube channel. DOGTV subscribers can also view the stream directly in the DOGTV app.
