Spotlight on Sporting Dogs at AKC Museum Of The Dog – DoggieUK9

The American Kennel Club® Museum of the Dog is thrilled to announce its newest exhibition which highlights Sporting Dogs.

The exhibit will be on display April 2nd through August 31st. The AKC Museum of the Dog is honored to display the collection of Gwynne McDevitt, a noted AKC member and Gordon Setter fancier. This captivating sporting dog exhibition explores a variety of dog breeds and subject matter, from portraits of Setters to Foxhounds on the hunt. This collection of 19th and 20th century works features noteworthy canine artists.

This traveling exhibition was organized by the National Sporting Library & Museum (NSLM) in Middleburg, VA, and curated by Claudia Pfeiffer, the NSLM’s George L. Ohrstrom, Jr. Deputy Director and Head Curator. “The museum is pleased to once again work with our colleagues from the National Sporting Library & Museum to share this important collection of Sporting dog art with our members and visitors,” said Alan Fausel, Adjunct Curator for the AKC Museum of the Dog.
